Favorite Find Friday: Reflection and Yarn Bombing

It’s Favorite Find Friday! I have mentioned how I like to end class with a reflection, right?

Well, it is true. I love to have kids clean up and join together to talk about something relevant to the art world now. We spend lots of time talking about ourselves, our art, and art from the past as well. I find the reflection time is a perfect time to talk about current art movements.  Not sure what to talk about in your reflection circle?  Check out my Teachers Pay Teachers store for a year’s worth of questions!

One of our favorite reflections is to talk about yarn bombing. Also known as granny graffiti. I show a very short powerpoint of collected images about it and we talk about knitting, graffiti and art! If we have time, we also read the book Extra Yarn which is perfect for the younger students!

Do you have a favorite way to end class?
